Thanx, doc.

This is the radical group that is viruently anti-gun, is that correct? My rural, small-town clinic hired one and the 1st thing he did was put up "guns kill kids" posters and began asking parents about gun ownership, followed by the usual patronizing lecture. Our senior pediatrician is a real working rancher. Things do get tense.

Will State logistics/regulation take precedence over Federal? It is my understanding that the universal voluntary vaccination has been approved as policy at the Federal level.
The addition of ring/quarrantine is to be used as indicated, in addition, IIRC.

I am 60. I had the infant vaccination, the kindergarten booster, another booster at, I think, 15 and when my family traveled to PNG in the 1970's, we all had another smallpox vaccination. One family member had been vaccinated 2x and another 1x. None of us had a reaction to the final one. We older ones could not recall a reaction after the kindergarten instance. Anecdotal, but something to consider, IMO.

Evidence-based medicine bump.

Don't blame the younger doctor for his stupidity. We are trained to follow the lead of the liberal socialists in these groups. If we do not follow, they will strip you of your credentials, destroy your earnings, and ostracize you. It is abusive at it's core.

I refuse to live in fear!

Quote from AAP WEBSITE follows:
http://www.aap.org/advocacy/archives/aprfir.htm

Recommendations from the AAP include:

The most effective measure to prevent firearm-related injuries to children and adolescents is the absence of guns from homes and communities. Firearm regulation, to include bans of handguns and assault weapons, is the most effective way to reduce firearm-related injuries.

Pediatricians and other health care professionals are urged to inform parents about the dangers of guns in and outside the home.

The AAP recommends that pediatricians incorporate questions about guns into their patient history taking and urge parents who possess guns, especially handguns, to remove them from the home.

The AAP urges that guns be subject to safety and design regulations like other consumer products, as well as tracing.

The AAP supports efforts to reduce the destructive power of handguns and handgun ammunition via regulation of the manufacture and importation of classes of guns.

In an effort to reduce the romanticization of guns in the popular media, the AAP urges the development of quality violence-free programming and constructive dialogue among child health and education advocates, the Federal Communications Commission, and the television and motion picture industries, as well as toy, video game, and other software manufactures and designers.

The AAP advocates that a coordinated, comprehensive national surveillance data system be maintained by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the National Center for Health Statistics.

Finally, the Academy supports the education of physicians and other professionals interested in understanding the effects of firearms and how to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with their use.
