Not practical to blanket the area with photorecon. Another reason to think this is Islamist terrorists: The only practical way to even try to do real-time coverage in an area like this is with drones, and we NEED our drones in Aftganistan and Iraq.

Can any FReeper clarify the medical info in this report? We have a friend who had her pancrias torn in half in a car accident. Is now on diabetic medicine. The pancreas does not produce the necessary insulin.

I'm SO glad to hear the kid is still alive. I had to run to the grocery store real quick...was really worried that his condition had deteriorated.
Thank you to the team who worked on him, and congratulations on your great work.
Still praying for the kid to live, and for strength for his family.
To: Wolfstar
Dear Wolfstar,
His recovery depends on how successful the physicians and nurses were at establishing adequate blood pressure and oxygenation. Part of the immediate response to massive trauma is establishing an airway and checking his breathing. From the sounds of it, he probably had blood pooling in his chest (the bullet wound was described as penetrating the stomach and lungs). I'm sure that we won't know the full situation for about one week at least.
Prayers matter here. I think it's up the Lord now.

No there is another...
Dirigibles ... if the weather is good, you can put up a dirigible loaded with cameras. Put remote control stations in DC and fly the dirigibles over Bethesda, McLean, DC area.

Who made them defenseless? Could the tears be tears of guilt? To be fair, even if all these people had been armed they would still be dead. It's rather difficult to defend against an unexpected and well concealed sniper.
I think the police involved in this case are in the unenviable position of trying to find a very elusive target.
I'll cut the guy a break

Prayers for the young man. May he fully recover.

"Why would a white supremacist shoot other whites?"To instigate a race war between Good Ol' Boys and the Arabs and anyone else who might look like an Arab.

"Why would a white supremacist shoot other whites?"Because he was hired by anti-gun Marxists.

the moderate Moose Limbs should want to start speaking up against this kind of thing rather than continue their almost unanimous silence. yeah, why is it that the Muslims (Moose Limbs - I like it) claim they "dropped to their knees" in shock on 911, etc. etc. yet you never hear their "outcry" against terrorism until the media puts the pressure on them.
To: concerned about politics
Your guess is as good as mine. There is a small possibility that it could be the work of White Supremacists, as evidenced by there recent vocal support of Saddam Hussein. I don't think the Gun-Grabbing Marxists have the balls necessary to risk everything on such a desperate ploy. I still believe these terror-shootings are the work of AlQueda Jihadists.

You might be on to something here. This kind of ammo and the weapon that fired it would be readily available and familiar to Al Qaeda opperatives.

Or the shooter doesn't care if he is caught (i.e. al Qaeda terrorist bent on taking as many of us with him before he commits suicide by cop.)

The media likes to blame such things on White Supremacists by default. I don't think the actual culprit/culprits will be caught. I suspect what will come out of this will be new laws concerning gun ownership.

Something so obvious that it hasn't been noticed by anyone else yet. Given the fast pace and accuracy of this assassin, it is unlikely that he is using a series of homemade supressors. Thus it is likely that he is using a military grade sniper weapon with attachable sniper-grade silencer. Probably a scope too, maybe with laser target painter.
Likely he is firing from the cover of a non-descript vehicle, that he can quietly drive away without drawing much attention to himself (maybe a truck or van that he can go from the back to the driver seat without going outside.) Or he has a accomplice that drives him away as soon as he gets a shot off.
