I don't think there is either, but I've seen some posts postulating that these attacks are somehow in Jewish neighborhoods. They're not. If anything, they are kind of middle class, ethnically mixed neighborhoods.

NONE of these recent shootings were in "Jewish neighborhoods". Too many people on this forum are prone to playing the "anti-semitic" card, even without any hard evidence to back up either their rantings or ethnocentric paranoia.

So, when did you become a queer for the ADL?

I am not quite sure what you mean. The point I was making is that the Islamofascists can't help but do their crap in areas where they believe there are Jews.

It's a hate thing with them. Concerning Michaels, you did know it is operated under the name Aaron's in most of the country - just not here.

I have work associates who live in the area and have been around WarshDC since 1966. Silver Spring is the traditional settlement area for many, many Conservative and Orthodox Jews.

It was quite clear to me that when the first killing happened just outside the gates of Leisure World that the shooters were either homegrown antisemites or imports from Arabia.

When they shot the cabdriver, I knew they were imports. (I have, in fact, met that man in past years at the home of a mutual friend.)

What do you mean, didn't occur to me? That is exactly what I said - in response to your claim that the graphics were not important. I simply pointed out, in response to your first post, that you were viewing the two (text and map) incorrectly. Either the time was much more than 25 minutes or the distance was much shorter than you assumed from the map. And your response to that was to attack my comments and lamely attempt to justify your initial post, which was clearly in error. In that light, you are hardly the one to lecture about civil discourse.

You didn't read my response very carefully. The shooting at Fredericksburg took place in the parking lot of "Michaels", part of a nationwide chain of arts and crafts shops.

In most of the country this chain operates under the name "Aarons", and even if it did not have a Jewish ownership component, I think your typical Islamofascist kid-killer could be forgiven for mistaking it for one!

Oh, let me add - so that you do not again misconstrue my comments: if it is your contention that your first post referenced numbers 4 and 5 from the text and was intended to reference the corresponding shootings on the map (regardless of number), please note that those two sites are so close on the map that they touch - completely negating the entire import of your intial post.

The attack sites are as you say "mixed ethnicity" there is a fair representation of just about everything here. What occured to me when I first heard where they took place is that the sites where fairly well trafficked, but not so much as to not be able to get an isolated target. There are a lot of people around, but not like downtown DC, where you couldn't shoot at a distance without being noticed and not be caught in traffic during the escape. I honestly don't think these targets where chosen for any other reason than the site simply leneded itself to the attack. After having the schools locked down for two days there is a pretty high level of fear, which would be just what a terrorist would be trying to achieve. The thing that is most disturbing os that no one is taking credit and that follows what Al Queda did after 9-11. Al Queda doesn't so much what to take credit for there actions as much as they want to commit the crime.

Only folks who believe that all Jews are rich could possibly say such a thing. There are plenty of folks who are not rich who live in older suburbs in modest houses. That's where this particular Islamofascist AlQaida strike force is working.

It takes very little effort to find the locations of the synagogues on the internet.

Man, this must really hit close to home for you. I'm terribly sorry for your loss.

Ha, ha, ha, ha. Thanks for the link, though. And yes, I do indeed "monitor" so-called "hate groups", regardless of whomever the terrorist flavor of the day around here may be. And yes, I am too, a Bush supporter, even if I don't agree 100% with his current take on Iraq.

As an American citizen, my primary concern right now is helping catch this sniper(s), regardless of what their political agenda may be.

You make a good point about the traffic. It's very possible that an unthinking or uprepared sniper could trap himself in one of D.C.'s infamous traffic jams. This person has studied the get-away routes to minimize the chance of that happening.

We're either dealing with someone very well-trained, someone of very high intelligence, or more ominously, both.

Mu,

I grew up and live in Rockville and my wife grew up in Silver Spring, and I think we have a pretty good handle on the area. I know Hebrews that live in Burtonsville, Damascus, Germantown, White Oak, ect. I also know Muslims that live in the same neighborhoods including ours. The location of the synagogues is not all that important unless they are ultra conservative and the congretion walks to the synagogue on the sabbath. right now the most conservative ones are in the neaighborhoods I described. As far as those neighborhoods go, they are not exclusively rich (ie Scotland in Potomac). Your point doesn't seem to be very valid to anyone but yourself and has not really been one that any here has picked up on.

If they wanted "Jewish" targets, there are high profile targets aplenty in Montgomery County. There is a stretch of Montrose Road in Rockville containing (in order) a synagogue, a Jewish school, a Jewish retirement home, and the Jewish Community Center.

If that's their angle, that's where they would eventually go for max impact. Not some nonsense about arts and crafts stores.

Personally, I think the sniper is more cunning than that. He wants to kill Americans where he has the best chance of escaping so that he can go on to kill more Americans.

Gee whiz, you'd think I hadn't talked this over with people who live in those neighborhoods, and whose kids go to the school where the shooting happened today.

I think I will stick with the folks who live there and ignore the comments of those who do not live there concerning this very narrow issue.

Or a cab driver who works in that area.

I know the one (actually a two-parter) you are talking about.

The sniper leaves a hangman game written in chalk at all his shooting spots. Commits suicide when cops find him, try to talk him into surrendering. He asks for a final letter, gets it, then kills self.

Then a copycat sniper picks up the shootings. He gets caught because he shows up as a witness at more than one scene. Then he is tricked into confessing - he boasts the other man stole HIS idea. He want's to set the records straight - He's an original, the other man was a copycat.

Both guys are made out to be such losers....not what *I* would guess would inspire a copycat....
