Well, so much for hoping somebody would actually give a sh*t about following the law.
SCOTUS has punted the ball, and now anything is fair game, so long as it acts to increase the 'Crap's power.
Hey, Billybob...You owe me an apology. I told you SCOTUS would screw us.

Where do you turn when the SCOTUS ignores the law?

Well, this has set a nasty precendent. However, it's one that will come back again in the future to bite the Democrats in the a$$. I can't wait until the Republicans pull this on them. Wait and hear them howl. Since the SCOTUS has passed on it, this New Jersey ballot change can be done anywhere in the country citing the New Jersey Supreme Court decision and the failure of the SCOTUS to step in.

They denied only the emergency writ. They will still deal with the issue. Just MHO....

While I think this actually plays out better for Forrester (it would have fired up the Dem base by having SCOTUS interfere)I am disgusted to be a lawyer. There is no law. The new Jersey Statute was clear and Article I section IV is clear. It's official-we are no longer a nation of laws-it's all politics. While I don't mind getting hosed by a small time Judge on some municipal matter because I don't have home field advantage, I really thought the NJSC and SCOTUS would do the right thing. No wonder people hate lawyers

This was a no win situation for conservatism.
If the Supreme Court overturned the NJ supreme court, Democrats would have more fodder to spin to the public that the Supreme Court is influencing elections. If the Supreme Court didn't take the case (as it has), the New Jersey scumbag courts effectively set a precident for all future NJ elections.

Unfreakinbelievable. Nice precedent to set too, huh. Why don't the republicans see who might be losing right now and replace them? The law doesn't matter, so who cares!

The USSC is not willing to protect the most sacred aspect of our Republic...the integrity of the ballot box. Unbelievable.
