I believe the police helicopters are still grounded due to a series of accidents not too long ago. They could be back up in the air, but I don't recall hearing about it.

Maryland has a lot of helicopters. The State Police operate 8 "Trooper" units which are equiped as LE and EMS transport. The City of Baltimore now has (I think) 4 brand new jet patrol craft, and each TV station has one, so it certainly is possible to get them all airborne. In fact, I have seen times when the news choppers were very clearly interfering with the "Troopers" getting in and out of accident and crime scenes. Breaking news has become a big time thing here in Socialist MD.

MSNBC---Washington Post newsreporter, Hamil Harris, saying that the schools have been on alert for something happening like this...people thought they were safe..seems it's going around the capitol beltway and no one saw anything..
