The leftists are ready to pounce - LEO types have to be super careful. Anything the govt. does has to be carefully planned, nuanced, and caveated, because people on the left differentiate on the basis of "who got hurt." I know what you mean. His performance does not inspire much confidence. I have to wonder how many much more highly qualified candidates were passed over to make room for his allotment. We can only hope he recognizes his own limitations and steps aside when big decisions are made on how to catch this sick piece of human trash.
