My middle kid was like that and many a night I had to sit outside her bedroom door so that she wouldn't get up and seek out and come back down stair

It took a while to get her into the habit of going to bed .. hang in there ..

LOL!!!

We gave up on putting a gate across her door or the stairs after she literally tore the last one to pieces - and it was made of wood.

The most horrible night of my life was when, at about 1:30am, we both were jolted out of bed with the sound of her falling down the entire flight of stairs. Amazingly -and thank the Lord - she was unhurt. Hubby, on the other hand lost his balance and threw himself over the bannister so he didn't land on her, and was in MAJOR pain for nearly a week.

He has NEVER turned out the hall lights again. And also never complains about how often he has to replace them!!!!!
