Sorry but you don't know Americans very well. What you see is not fear it is an acknowledgement that we are going to do our own profiling. Like it or not, from this point on any young man of Middle Eastern heritage is a terrorist in waiting and has a 1000 eyes on him. If that makes you or them uncomfortable then blame the source, Muslim terrorists not us. If you mistake that vigilance for fear you do it at your own peril.
What you call heightened vigilance I call deep seated prejudice. As for my alleged peril, I'm no more worried about being zapped by a terrorist than I am being hit by a meteorite.
