"Kathy Thompson quit doing housework September 25, refusing to do laundry, cook or make the bed. She said she was tired of working, going to school and caring for the house while her husband Gary went out fishing. "
But Asian women will.
Thank god for Asia!

That broad better get her butt back in the kitchen and get those snacks ready - they guys are coming over to watch the big game...
And get this living room cleaned up, woman. You embarrass me...
;0)

Oh I'm so glad she got that worked out......now on to Saddam.
To: Bobby777
Who's paying all the household bills, buying groceries & putting her through school? Both of them, sounds like. If she wasn't working, I might see it, but not if she's holding down a job as well. If I tried to pull that crap, my wife would have my hide stretched on a drying rack. :)

I think women who stay home should be appreciated and told what valuable work they do. Having said that, however, when I am home in the evening from my 2nd job she had best not ask me to fill the dishwasher for her.

What a twit this woman is.. her job is housework, cooking and kids REGARDLESS of whether her husband goes fishing or helps her or not. Here's a scenario.. if we work for the same company, and I don't like the way you spend your free time, can I stop doing my job? no. And don't say housewives don't get paid. They get free room and board, and they almost always have control the checkbook. This woman needs a lesson in wifely duty.

Delaware County - Ask Kathy Thompson, and she'll tell you she adores her husband. Hes a great guy, she said. But when it comes to work around the house, Kathy has a few complaints.
Kathy says in her home, the brunt of the housework falls on the shoulders of the wife. She goes to work, comes home, picks up the kids. She goes home, cooks, cleans, bathes the kids and the husband can come home and relax if he wants to or grab a beer and say, Honey, what's for supper? said Kathy, describing her routine and, no doubt, one that might ring familiar to many women.
Kathys husband Gary doesnt quite understand his wifes frustration. Okay, so we all get mad sometimes. But going on strike! As far as the laundry and the dishes and things, I didn't think I was that bad. I cook quite a bit. We got a dishwasher. How hard can that be? I know - don't give me that look! he said.
The couples biggest point of contention has been Gary's hobby. It seems when he's not working (which he says it six to seven days a week), hes fishing. He went on a fishing trip. Someone tried to break in and I thought, I'm going on strike. He had his seven days and now I'm taking mine! said Kathy. I want the women at home to know, say, Look, we're fed up. We're not taking it no more!'
Gary says his wife has threatened for years to go on strike. As for the prospect of an 11th hour deal, News 8 will keep you posted. I know I'm gonna have to start telling her I love her more. And probably take her on a nice trip somewhere and spend some quality time, I reckon, said Gary.

maybe if we could get Saddam's wive(s?) to rebel, he'd be so dang busy we could sneak up on him ... could we get a Psy-OP's C-130 to broadcast Dr. Phil's TV show into Baghdad?

I hate to tell her this, but the movie has already been done about this ( I don't remember the title or who stars in it, nor do I care) and on "Lifetime" several times so she's too late.
To: Bobby777
Yeee haaaw to her. It is tiring. The husband AND KIDS should be splitting all chores. Only thing is....her home will look like a tornado came through and it will stay that way until she buys a dollar dry erase board and delegates the chores to the kids and if they don't do them-they go no where, don't talk on the phone, don't eat till the dishes are done to eat on. The hubby is a lost cause, I think. Can't teach an old dog new tricks.

She was working as well. So much for free room and board. She was paying her way.

I like your post. hehheh
"It'll be something I can tell my grandkids," the 45-year-old said Friday.
Something to tell her grandkids. What, about how she embarassed her family and her husband in particular.
Quit your complaining lady. So you have housework to do, join the club. At least it doens't sound like he's boozing up the hard stuff, coming home and beating you up.
I must go now I have to cook, clean laundry, vacuum and do housework. Does anyone feel sorry for me? I hope not, it's part of being of grown up.
Note to her hubby: A "thank you" or a small gift of appreciation EVERY ONCE IN A WHLE goes a long way (women like that sort of stuff).

the DOD has just released the following info:
"A strike team has been dispatched to alleviate the situation. The President is aboard the Airborne Command Center Plane. Navy Seal Team 6 will approach the house from the South. At 6:00 p.m. they will cut the power to the target. Fifteen F-15 Strike Eagle's will begin making their run from the West, while the Sun is low on the horizon to shield them from ground attack. B-52's and B-1's have been launched from Diego Garcia and Whiteman Air Force Base, respectively. BlackHawk helicopters will perform the insertion of Army Airborne Rangers while the Coast Guard patrols all waterways. The President has reportedly not decided on whether to use the nuclear option." (EOM)
We can only watch and pray ...

The way I see it, both parties should put forth an equal effort in the relationship. Just because she does a greater variety of things, doesn't mean she puts forth more effort. For example, I work 40 hours a week, not counting my nearly one hour commute each way. I also keep a vegetable garden, and mow the grass, help with shopping, and do all the driving on errands (my live-in girlfriend is from Australia, and currently has no job, and is not comfortable driving alone, since we drive on the other side of the road here).
So I don't feel bad expecting that she keep up the house and do most of the cooking and cleaning. It's not like I go to work to play video games, after all. (Well, other than keeping a FR window open and posting comments from time to time).
I don't know if she has legitimate grievances here or not. But it doesn't sound like the guy is all that bad -- he works a full-time job! And airing your dirty laundry like this is so Oprah-esque. If this guy sits there and takes it, he may be beyond hope.

There is something to be said for a home that clean and tidy. I do housework because I don't want to live slob.
Right when I thought I heard it all. I'm sure Oprah is very proud of this woman. What next?

It also doesn't hurt to lend a helping hand once in a while... In my mind, marriages are partnerhips... but maybe I'm just old-fashioned ;0)
Now, on that note, I need to go wash some dishes, or I won't be able to cook dinner tonight ;0)
