Well I hope MD has and uses the death penalty. Otherwise, it's just another 3 hots and a cot for life for the perp. Not to mention the book and movie deal.

Maryland does have the Death Penalty. In the quickest case I can remember, the State of Maryland convicted John Thanos in 1990 of double homicide. In 1993, I think it was, they executed him. I remember being impressed at the time because Maryland is a state not known for its conservatism.
