Blacks I've known here who go muslim are mainly 3 groups. Nation of Islam, Moorish Science Temple, and Sunnis. The first two are really fakirs and not terribly accepted by the mullah crowd. The Sunnis of course are I suppose the real thing.

What amuses me about the "back to Africa" aspect of this is that A) Nearly all black slaves were of Ibo, Yoruba, Coramatee, or Mandingo heritage and were religiously ANIMISTS not Muslims. and B) Muslims did in fact have a large hand in enslaving their ancestors to begin with.....continuing till this very day.

Some blacks wish for a "roots" religion they ought to look into animal and nature worship and old fashioned witch doctor stuff. Better yet, go Rasta...they are more peaceful.

That's something I've NEVER UNDERSTOOD. I can understand in some way rejecting Christianity, but to embrace THE enslaving religion of African blacks and then to take names of a culture and people that have nothing to do with you(might as well stick with the European names if you're gonna do that) strikes me as idiotic.

I think I'm going to convert to Hinduism and call myself Jayesh Patel.
