Yup. And more importantly, some of the hijackers who died on 9/11 stayed in a motel in Laurel for a while trying to get flight-training nearby.

So they may have had some kinda local support system. Or at least knew there was a big enough population there to blend in.

My boyfriend was born in Laurel and he says there's a big Muslim population there (mostly law-abiding, of course).
