This woman will (and should) bear tremendous guilt all her life for what she's brought about - the annihiliation of own her son, and grief so immense on the part of child's father at the loss of his son that he killed himself.

FIFTH COMMANDMENT
THOU SHALT NOT KILL
COMMANDS: safeguarding of one's own life and the bodily welfare of self and that of others.
FORBIDS: unjust killing, suicide, abortion, sterilization for the direct purpose of preventing procreation, dueling, endangering life and limb of self or others excepting for a legitimate reason, such as attempting to save one's life or that of another.
Having said that, please pray for this poor man's soul as he may have begged for God's mercy before performing this terrible act. No one knows except God what state of mind he was in. Sounds like he was suffering terribly!

God is just but also merciful. Perhaps the man's mental state due to the murder of his son would be taken into account by our Creator. I believe so also. I'd be more worried about the woman's standing with our Creator.

This is very, very sad. He is now in heaven with his son.
To: Gerish
Sounds like he was suffering terribly! Who could not as his son was ripped limb from bloody limb by the son's mother?

That would be make-your-BRAIN-itch strange.
I'm sufficiently struck by the conundrum I first heard Rush lay out:
- If a man fathers a child, and the woman gives birth, her choice obliges him to pay child support
- If a man fathers a child, and the woman chooses to abort, the father has no say.
That way lies madness.

Hey, she has to answer for this, not you.

I suspect that the abortuary simply hosed off the sidewalk and continued murdering babies without so much as a second thought. If you can murder babies, not much else will move you.

Do you think he'd have killed himself if she'd had a miscarriage instead of an abortion? posted by A_perfect_lady If this man was suffering from clinical depression, perhaps his grief would cause suicide even with a miscarriage, but it is more likely that his suicide was the result of depression enhanced by the spectre of someone he loved murdering his and her child out of spite and selfishness.
Now my question to you: How would you feel about the precedent that if a father takes full and complete legal responsibility for the unborn child, the woman would be obliged to continue life support (for a scant few months) and delivery (by caesarean if she chooses, and the father foots the entire bill), then the living child would be sole responsibility to the father in life support for the remaining twenty-one years?

You wrote about marriage.
It sounds as if this were in the plan.
How much do you know about how grief happens in a person's life? It always manifests itself differently according to the circumstances.
Elsabeth Kubler-Ross in her book, On Death and Dying cites five phases of grief and I add another.
1.Denial
2.Bargaining
3.Depression
4.Anger
5.Acceptance
and 6.Reaching Out
Those who experience a divorce or separation as well as the loss of a loved one experience all these phases -- sometimes simultaneously.
Please think about it, and cease judgment in such cases.

Yes, that's right. But any loving person of faith would worry about a woman who unrepentantly murders her child.

Women should be obliged legally to not abort when the father commits to such. A child with a loving parent who wants to raise that child in love should not be annihilated.

This is the blurb the KC Star ran on Sept. 11:
Victim dies A man who shot himself in the head Monday died Tuesday afternoon at a hospital.
Brad Draper, 44, of Lee's Summit, had been in critical condition for a day.
Police said Draper left notes, and then shot himself about 1 p.m. outside a car in the south parking lot of Planned Parenthood, 4401 W. 109th St.
Draper was not an employee of Planned Parenthood.

Cannot or WILL NOT? God forgives everything....even murder. God will forgive, providing she repents totally from the evil she committed. We should pray that she does. Perhaps, if she does indeed do so, she could devote a chunk of her life to helping prevent other such tragedies.

an accessory before the fact? The woman did not tell him of her planned visit to PP killer shop.
See my post in 51 for references to the grief this individual may have been experiencing.

Do you really expect any of the Kansas stations to cover anything like this? I listen to 980 & 710. Two of the more conservative secular stations in the area and they are just slightly to the right of James Carville politically.
92.3 Christian radio may have covered this but I have spotty coverage of them at work.
