Agreed. Or some variant (Armalite, Bushmaster, etc). What else? I heard about an AK-47 chambered for this round. Don't know if it's very accurate, though.

They should also look for Thompson/Contender pistols chambered for .223.

The Ruger Mini-14 would be an excellent candidate as well. Light, accurate, and cheap. They cost half of what the AR-15 clones do.
