"Worse than social security, welfare, socialized medicine, legislation from the bench, a greatly diminished 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th (and more) amendments, etcetera etcetera ad nauseam?"

I'm a strong support of social security and welfare (for those who truly need it). There is no socialized medicine in this country. Legislation from the bench is annoying, but can be corrected by Congress. On your last point, the WOD is responsible for much of the erosion of our Bill of Rights.

Also, nothing on your list has resulted in armed goons kicking in peoples' doors, destroying their property, shooting their pets, and sometimes even shooting the people themselves, all on the tip of some no-good criminal looking to cop a plea. Nope, for that we can thank the WOD.

What in the Constitution authorizes federal involvement in these areas?

You are a strong supporter for social security and welfare? It's nice to know you support the modern equivelent of slavery. I'm sure that the government is capable of determining what "needy" person needs my hard earned money more than I do.

"There is no socialized medicine in this country" What do you call price fixing and HMO/PPO regulation? It may not be a canadian model but it's hardly free market.

"Legislation from the bench is annoying, but can be corrected by Congress." Annoying?! The courts have usurped the position of the legislative branch and you think that is annoying? You think that Congress is going to take on that fight without a lot of public support? How do you think that support will be drummed up when most of the activist types have been co-opted by our socialist indoctrination camps? (ie:campuses)

"Also, nothing on your list has resulted in armed goons kicking in peoples' doors, destroying their property, shooting their pets, and sometimes even shooting the people themselves, all on the tip of some no-good criminal looking to cop a plea." Actually it's hardly a rare occurance for suspected "gun" crimes or tax evasion. Hell IRS agents don't even need a warrant. Yes the WOD has further degraded our republic, and I would not even begin to argue otherwise but I think the WOD is a symptom of the underlying problem and not the primary problem.
