Well, Fallwell may or may not have it right, but this 60 Minutes interview is one of the reasons I've never liked him.

He can be counted on, when given a stage, to hand the media the club they need to beat him and the Christian right over the head.

Slurring a major religious figure on national television is something only bigots do.

Recall the disciple of Farrakhan who called the Pope a "cracker."

This may fire up Falwell's followers, but it only confirms how totally brain-dead his public demeanor is. He'd be better off talking about the gay Teletubby again, another incident that made him look the fool.

And, of course, who can forget his blaming of gays for 9/11.

What a clueless chump.

Do tell. I totally missed this story. What exactly did he say or do?

I'm not big falwell fan, but he's right about Mohammed. He was an epileptic OCD nutcase who forced conversion by violence if it couldn't be had through
peaceful submission"

And if preacher man can't come out and say one religion is superior to another, then what is the point of a preacher man's existence.

I'm no Falwell fan, but he's right and I'm glad he is willing to point out the obvious.

FWIW, as crazy and laughable as it seems, hid remarks about the purse-toting purple-triangle teletubby were actually fairly accurate. The original fellow who portrayed the purple tele-tubby WAS gay (he was eventually fired) and the character partially built around the idea of making it "ok" for little boys to be soft and sensitive - i'm sure the triangle was not a "gay plot", and part of the swishiness was unconscious but it WAS present. It did not go lost on the gay community

The purple teletubby was "adopted" as a gay symbol for a short time. Gays went in and scarfed up the purple stuffed dolls, (leaving mothers of tubby fans to scrounge desperately for a full set of the toys), and carried purple teletubby teletubby backpacks around as an ungerground joke.

Now, if homosexuals themselves see the purple teletubby as a gay icon, one can hardly blame falwell for noticing
the same things.

I saw him interviewed about the teletubby deal. He claimed it was a total Media fabrication, and that he had no idea what a teletubby was, till he heard the Media run with it. Never underestimate the leftists bent toward evil. They will lie to your face, if it furthers the cause of socialism/communism. He should, however, wait till after the elections. The Media are trying to set him up again, and sometimes he has been too willing to take their bait.

Obviously, you didn't read his words on the 9/11 issue and the gays. He was simply making a point of how America has degenerated to a lifestyle that is "pro" anything you want to do is ok, even if it is against GOD's law. Christians believe there is a price to be paid for sin and that is why he made the statements he did. He was not intimating that the people killed by the terrorists deserved to die, but the protective hand of GOD was being withdrawn because of our lifestyles and our pulling away from HIS laws.
He is a preacher of the WORD of GOD, he is supposed to say what is right and written in the Bible. He is not a politician, even Jesus said the world would hate us for wjat we stood for.

Falwell, a Baptist minister and chancellor of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., said Thursday on Robertson's religious TV program The 700 Club that he blames the attacks on pagans, abortionists, feminists, homosexuals, the American Civil Liberties Union and the People for the American Way.

"All of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say: 'You helped this happen,"' Falwell said.

He added later: "God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve."

Now, from pgs. 19-20 of What's So Great About America by Dinesh D'Souza:

So what is the Islamic objection to America? In conversations with Muslims from around the world, several common themes emerge...."Americans have two things on their minds: money and sex", "Your women are whores", "In America mothers prefer to work than to take care of the children", "In our culture the parents take care of the children, and later the children take care of the parents. In America the children abandon their parents", "America used to be a Christian country. Now atheism is the official religion of the West", "Your TV shows are disgusting. You are corrupting the morals of our young people".

Of course, their are other factors as to why Islam and the West, especially the United States, have been on a collision course which fulminated on Sept 11, 2001.
The disciples of Islam believe that we are indeed "infidels" and the Koran orders our destruction.
They are intent on making Islam not only the religion of the world, but also the 'way of life'.

Dr. Falwell's remarks made after 9/11 were correct, as his most recent one's are too.
