Boy, is she getting off light! If this had been a man, he'd probably have been thrown in the slammer for a lot longer than 180 days, with no commutation of his sentence either...

Can't you mean people just leave this girl alone???!!! For G-d's sake, she lost her baby! Isn't that punnishment enough???!!!
/sarcasm
We certainly can't send this girl to prison, it would be too unpleasant for her!
What the hell is this world coming to, when a woman smothers a child to death, and it's not called murder? The deliberate and unlawful taking of a human life!
I guess it was just a retroactive abortion.

If the baby had been a cat the woman would be in some serious trouble.

Lemme guess. She's a fine young woman who happened to make a bad choice. That she now regrets.
Anyway, that's the hook that Toogood's lawyer used.

Putting stickers on trash dumpsters to deter women from dumping their newborns? How crazy is this?

If she had been a man and threw a dog into traffic she would be doing hard time now.

LOL, okay - - this is California, and this is a scumbag California judge, right? So this young woman simply performed a partial-birth abortion a few minutes late. What's a few minutes? It's all perfectly acceptable to Democrats. Perfectly legal, too, in their eyes.
Sheesh, what's the news here?

What's wrong with a 4th trimester abortion? It's a choice, not a child!(/sarcasm)

*dripping sarcasm*
Good thing she wasn't caught smothering the child on-camera.

Inmates convicted of violent crimes against children, molestations and former law enforcement officers are often targeted for violent attacks by other inmates. Would they kill her, like she did to her child?
I was born and raised in Santa Cruz. It's nuts in Santa Cruz. But there is no laughing about this one. It is just scary and evil to be so cavalier about a murdered baby. Years ago a Christian philosopher Francis Schaeffer made the point that abortion devalues life within the fabric of society. This is bearing out to be true. The mild treatment of the killer in this case is just the next step. Those who excuse and tolerate would bristle at the the moniker of 'blood thirsty' or 'evil'. And yet, taken in perspective without the sophistry of how compationate, tolerant and evolved it is to give this person a pass, that is exactly what it is. The dark will get darker and the light will get lighter. Pray.
