I am with you. If one puts all these thing together -- Daschle's supermajority, Florida elections, McDermett/Bonier, This NJ ruling to toss out the rule of law -- it is scary. I have a cousin who is an ardent environmental-looney. The last time I saw him, I brought up the Constitution and Elections to solve controversies. He replied that, "Some things are just too important for democracy". The Democates are at this point now. If they can, they will disenfranchise conservatives and even the small handfull fo rational liberals in their own party.

"Some things are just too important for democracy".

You should know already that Liberals feel that way ... they are perfectly happy to have the courts ram down school busing, funding for illegal immigrants, forcing state to overturn parental notification in case of abortions, etc. In other words, they are happy to subvert Democratic wishes to achieve their ends.

It is pretty much the WHOLE MODUS OPERANDI OF THE ACLU IN A NUTSHELL. Get the courts to do what the people themselves wont.
