I think Strom Thurmond should reconsider his not running and say that he decided to remain on the ballot so that if he should pass on,

(God Forbid)

then he can prevent the (D)-Govenor from appointing a (D)-replacement. They're doing it in Hawaii, and they did it in the past in MO. Then they can have a special election and have one of his (R)-relatives run for his senate seat who would be elected overwhelmingly out of sympathy.

P.S. Change your name.

When ol' Strom finally does pass from this mortal coil, I may have to get myself down to the other Carolina and join in his funeral parade. I plan to carry and wave a large Confederate flag.

(If I'm not too old and infirm. I'm already 50)

Are there any FReepers that believe todays selloff on Wall Street was attributable to Strom?

I just want to know how deep the delusions run.
