I enlisted in the Air Force and served from 1970-74. I was fortunate enough to have been stationed stateside, at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS, and Eglin AFB, in Florida. I would never think of dishonoring the sacrifices of other military men who fought in Viet Nam by calling myself a Viet Nam vet. While technically, like those two cowards in Baghdad, I am a Viet Nam era vet, it is self-serving to refer to oneself as that, and I never do.

From 71 - 73 I spent a year in the US and 21 months on a missile site in West Germany. I would never dream of even calling myself a Viet Nam era vet, though we both are. I salute those who REALLY served.
