Barone is hammering them on Federal law dealing with military overseas ballots. He is taking them to school. Chief Justice asks what law he is quoting and he NAILED HER!
This guy is not going down without a fight.

This shows what a sham and dog and pony show this is. A state supreme court taking a survey.</>This is so unbelieveable. Courts taking polls now. Well, thank you very much bill clinton. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!

make them look as foolish as the Florida SC.He already obtusely compared them to that corrupt court.

I hope I am not batting 1000 Actually, I don't think so. Torch was losing and McGreevey would be committing political suicide to do that. If you are correct and Loutie did resign, I fear that Bill Clinton could replace him.

Exactly! He's setting THEM up to be slapped down by the SCOTUS.
To: rintense
You would think they learned from Florida. Their total disregard for absentee ballots is astounding. I agree, they are introducing this to set a basis for appeal to the USSC.

Control of the Senate is very important. You bet it is, and if it takes a few RINOs to make it happen...then so be it.

Control of the Senate is a political matter, not a judicial matter. Under that theory, who is elected president is a political rather than judicial matter. No, when states start monkeying around with laws depriving citizens of their federal constitutional right to representative democracy (the right to live in a free republic), then it is a federal judicial matter.
On the U.S. Supreme Court!

Bad move or not, it is the LAW. The basis is the same for the Florida appeal. These justices are usurping established law. They can not do that. The Florida case was more complex than that. The same issues are not here.

Is Barone Doug's attorney?
To: tomkat
That this attorney is citing the 2000 FL election decisions is just too ironic to be believed. BEAUTIFUL!!!!
To: ELS
Hey E, this is the first time this morning I've seen a ray of light. He keeps emphasizing the word FEDERAL. Come on SCOTUS!!

"The law is what ever the judges say it is."
Until overturned and bitchslapped by the SCOTUS and made to look like a bunch of know-nothing numbnuts!
To: Jimer
Better win by more than one seat then, because Chaffee has already threatened to "pull a Jeffords" if it is that close again.
To: mlo
How is our second guy doing? Is he representing the state party or the national GOP?

I didn't think to leave my name, either. I just gave my "unbiased opinion as a open-minded Independant."
