Andre was really about 6 ft 10 inches tall. Paul "Big Show " Wight is about the same size. Wrestling is the only "sport" I can think of that beats professional basketball at exagerrating the size of the athletes.
Andre was fun to watch before his disease left him nearly crippled. Hogan was far too formualic in the ring and his character was too one dimensional.
Steve Austin was a pretty good worker, was pretty good on the mic and had a very good grasp of the psychology of building a good match. I'd take Austin over anyone as the most entertaining wrestler ever.
Kurt Angle may someday outdo him.
What do you think of Ric Flair? I always thought he was an overratted loser.
I went to a match where Andre headlined in the 70's. He was taller than 6'10 back then. He shrunk considerably over time.
Antonino Rocca.
I can't beleive no one is mentioning Bruno Samartino. Kurt Engle is a Bob Backlund copy
