The Torch's swan song yesterday will go down in history as one of the most hilarious, revolting, and embarassing displays of narcissism by a politician ever. (Considering the existence of The Rapist, that's saying a lot.).

The Torch actually apologized to The Rapist on because "he wasn't strong enough" (to hang on to his office the way The Rapist did). I ROTFLOLed the entire time the Torch wailed through his speech--it was GREAT FUN!!!!

I would agree with your assessment that it was quite an embarrassing display of narcissism, the constant examples of what "he" did for people who did not even know of his great works. The Torch did not even have the sense to use the political plural "we" instead of "I" in his speech, which demonstrates a political "tin ear" suprising in such a hard-nosed politician.

Compare that to Ronald Reagan's farewell speech from the Oval Office, if the Torch had borrowed some of the themes, he could have made a painful and embarrassing event somewhat less so...

Now the big issue is how the Democrats will get around the 51/46 day limit for ballot modifications signed into law in 1985. Since absentee ballots have already gone out, even to Afghanistan with 35 days until the election there is no time to retract the ballots so that the military votes will be back in time for the election.
