Even under the reading of the law that would allow them to cancel this November's Sentate election...

Aren't there equal protection issues? If NJ can cancel an election because they don't like the slate of candidates (or the chances of one party winning over another), then what's to stop Missouri or South Dakota from doing the same? It is unfair to the voters of other states if one state is allowed to alter the election process in order to influence the outcome.
