Well, Ashcroft lost to a dead guy, so even if Torch quits, it's a little early to be dancing in the streets like Palestinians after a terror attack.

Guys (and Gals) think of the War (the 2002 and 2004 Elections) not the Battle (The NJ Senate Race)
I think the dems are seeing the writing on the wall and setting up a "see the Republicans are trying to stop the Voting process again" situation.
They try and get a Replacement Candidate and the Repubs go to court to stop it. They will then point fingers and Say "See, they did it in Florida and Now they are doing it in Jersey!"
I am willing to bet they are doing this to cloud the waters!!!!

Sounds to me that they would have to find a replacement to run THIS NOVEMBER. (LOUSENBERG OR DOLLAR BILL BRADLEY))My concern is that it seems that THE DEMS ARE DISINFRANCHISING VOTERS

"Two Democrats are reportedly telling the Associated Press that Torricelli has told New Jersey Democratic leaders and Senate collagues of his plans. They say the Democratic senator has not yet finalized his decision, and will hold a news conference later Monday afternoon."

Just a thought if The Torch quits ... Is Tony Soprano a democrat?

McSLEAZY starts off quoting Teddy Roosevelt. Revolting.
To: alisasny
McSLEAZY whines: Torch can't talk about the issues! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

What the dem leadership is forgetting is that if they go through with allowing Torrecelli to resign and cancel the election, they are giving the hardcore republicans and conservatives the very reason to go and vote in this election. The dems have forgotten what happened in 2000 when we as a group came together like never before. They will rue the day that they did this.

Working late doesn't give him the right to take bribes. This man is a disgrace even by democrat standards. He crys for himself, what a jerk.

No, no, no! Torch, you read the script incorrectly. "Senior citizens will be thrown into the streets. Children will starve because they will not receive free breakfast, lunch, and dinner." Yada, yada, yada!

If you want to bribe a senator and you've looked high and low
Rest assured that there is one who's guaranteed to take the dough
He's done it all before, that's something that you need to know
The Torch awaits your call
Pass the loot to Torricelli
pass the loot to Torricelli
pass the loot to Torricelli
The Torch awaits your call
