No, we DON'T do it! That is why Ashcroft is Attorney General instead of Senator from Missouri, that is why Mary Landrieu is the Senator from Louisiana, and that is why WE have never gained a majority by getting a senator to defect!
Go away.
To: Wphile
Consider this: If he resigns does he then lose his pension? If a resignation can effect his lucrative pension, then the Torch may not in fact Resign, maybe drop out of the race and let another dem try to beat Forrester. ?????
To: Miss Marple
I might have to start the cocktail hour at noon today!

I believe Menendez is a radical left wing dem. A disaster for our nation at a time of war.
To: rstevens
I don't know if 1-term Senators qualify for pensions ...

A Younger Anna Nicole Smith Photo....would be nice....:-) I watched that show.....once. It was like a train wreck - you wish it had never happened - but out of morbid curiousity, you take a little peek anyway.
The woman had to be on drugs, and is fatter than hell. I felt like popping her with a pin!

How do you think NJ rats will react to the return of either Lautenberg or Bradley. I think NJ would like a fresh face in Senate.
To: buffyt
What really steams me is that this has taken the Baghdad Three off the top of the news! I wanted those traitors as the poster boys for the Rats.
I bet this will be a hugely smarmy news conference full of love for the people of New Jersey and how wonderful the Rats are.
To: alisasny
Sounds to me that they would have to find a replacement to run THIS NOVEMBER. (LOUSENBERG OR DOLLAR BILL BRADLEY))My concern is that it seems that THE DEMS ARE DISINFRANCHISING VOTERS
To: 1Old Pro
Well lets hope for debates between Forrester and either Lousenberg or Bradley very soon...: ))
Listen, this may not be so bad.
To: alisasny
Rush just said that the meeting between Clinton, McAwful and the Torch has ended, he will resign....Launtenberg or Bradley will take his place...Bradley will be the toughfest to beat....this is bad news.

They're saying he changed his mind Again no less of a source than Freeperville is saying that the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Torch changed his mind. He considered resignation this am then thought better. We'll see. This just posted at DU, must say I'm confused....

Even if he stays in the race the Dems are going to send all money to other races and leave the Torch as Mr. Emptypants.
To: The Old Hoosier
It will be Bill Bradley...

I was going to do the Food to Cook for Breaking News thread this weekend, but I didn't want it to conflict with the Fund Raiser. Please be sure to ping me for that one.

Clinton and McAuliffe? Gee what a surprise.
Will Clinton stand up there while the Torch resigns for the good of the party? HAR!
To: buffyt

It will still be Torricelli's name on the Nov. ballot, though. Anybody besides Torch would have to be elected as a write-in.
