This morning started off as the most depressing day (political) since those infamous 36 days following the Presidential campaign.
Dasshole, Streisand, Kennedy, Torch....and the media giving them a pass. And then to see Steffinupoulos asking McDermott if he thinks the President was lying.......it was all too much.
Guess I should have more faith......but sometimes it is really really hard. I begin to wonder what my kid served in the military for.....what are our current military folks thinking about these low life scum that they might have to die for.........

Let's hope he does stay in the race. I'm afraid Forrester's only chance is against that stain of a man. New Jersey dems would jump at the chance to vote against a Pub.
Just the thought of Lautenberg crawling back out from under his rock is nauseating.

As someone said, Torricelli isn't quitting because he's a crook, he's quitting because he's gonna lose!! I think the only way this vermin would quit is because he knows the IRS is about to lower the boom on his arse.

Oh, Arnold! He was guest speaker at Crystal Cathedral yesterday and I MISSED it because I am back in Tex. Plus I missed the Freep A Creep event at Hollywood where BS was fund raising for the DEMONcRATs. I am here when things are going on in Ca. and I am in Ca. when things are happening here! darn....

If the WSJ is reporting he will stay ....then the RATS couldn't figure a clean way around keeping the seat...
They couldn't pass the smell test pulling a stunt..

McDermott is a socialist of the highest order. He's also a total scumbag. He doesn't deserve any face time.

Where is the WSJ reporting this?

There's two key questions; when do the ballots get printed, and when does the absentee voting begin?
To: OldFriend
Perhaps we should evaluate all OUR losing races and have them withdraw and run a real winner, huh?
What am I saying? Republicans play by the rules.

Staff Reporter of The Wall Street Journal
Sen. Bob Torricelli of New Jersey, under fire for ethics troubles, is considering ending his campaign for a second term, a senior Democratic Party official said.
As the party waits for Mr. Torricelli's decision, the party is exploring its legal options for getting a replacement candidate on the November ballot, according to the official....

The dems have to know that the Senate seat is lost and are trying to protect democrats on the down ticket in NJ.....
To: Wphile
It's beyond the filing deadline to get a new name on the ballot. While the deadline for being listed on the New Jersey ballot passed earlier this month, that deadline might be waived, although it could take a court ruling, a Democratic source said. (This according to Reuters)

Well, Ashcroft lost to a dead guy, so even if Torch quits, it's a little early to be dancing in the streets like Palestinians after a terror attack.

Election law expert, checking in as requested. No Governor can ever APPOINT a new Senator to serve beyond the term of the Senator who has died, resigned, or gone to jail (or taken up to the Mother Ship). Also, this provision of N.J. law cannot cancel an election to fill a new term. There is NO good news in this for the Democrats.
Congressman Billybob
This follows the argument that the appointment can only take place where the absence occurs at a time other than the end of a term. I'm starting to feel better. Hope CBB is right. Furthermore, I hope Torricelli stays in the race.
