I bet he is withdrawing. Why call a press conference if he is staying in? I don't like this one bit.

He didn't call a conference to "not" resign. The questions are what will be "plan b" for the NJ Rats ? Something that the Torch may not answer. The second question is if their is no "plan b" for NJ was there fear that the Torch would have affected the other senate races ?

I've already got chicken on for chicken and dumplings. Easy and doesn't require much attention.

I was going to do the
Food to Cook for Breaking News thread this weekend, but I didn't want it to conflict with the Fund Raiser.
Remind me and we'll do it as soon as everybody PAYS UP!

According to another thread NJ law states that if a vacancy occurs within 30 days of an election, the Governor appoints a replacement and said replacement has to face election in the
following general election. That means he (the replacement) is in for two more years.
This whole thing stinks.

The Torch? News conference? I have a suggestion. Two Words:

I just e-mailed my kid (okay, she's a grown-up & registered voter) in New Jersey to see what's going on & what she's heard. So far, she hasn't seen fit to e-mail her Sainted Mother back.
Luckily, I made a big pot of chili yesterday. That'll see us through any and all emergencies.
