*sigh* My bad. I didn't read down far enough before blowing up. 5'3" 100 pounds is still skinny but not enough that somebody's going to look at him and go "Oh, something's wrong here."

Still, though, that stepfather...can't remember who said it in a Western (I think it was Clint Eastwood), but it sure applies here: "There's some folks that just need killin'."

Something *was* wrong there! A normal 18 year old would have been more resourceful than that. Even if he looked like he was on drugs, someone should have at least called the police.
No one has mentioned whether this kid was severely mentally or emotionally handicapped, but he must have been.

Why didn't someone on that long bus trip at least point him out to a cop?
