The United States on Friday issued a condemnation of Israel's attempt to kill arch-terrorist Mohammed Deif on Thursday, Army Radio reported.
U.S. State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said that the US opposes the use of heavy weapons in urban areas even when they are used against people like Mohammed Deif, who have been responsible for the deaths of American citizens.
Boucher said such targeted killings inflame tension in the region and hinder US efforts to bring peace.
Boucher also reiterated the US's call for Israel to fulfil the UN Security Council resolution that calls on Israel to withdraw immediately from Arafat's Ramallah compound.

State Dept. pablum meant for international consumption. Please ignore.Precisely. Only recently in Afghanistan, we ourselves were destroying whole buildings just to kill a key Tali or two. Boucher is full of crap on this issue, and nobody knows this better than Boucher himself, with his fingers crossed.

I'd criticize them for botching the job. I saw a news clip which showed someone being dragged out of the car--maybe it was him.

I'm shocked. Simply shocked.
The US State Dept attacking a US ally during the WAR for Enduring Freedom.
Will that encourage more allies? or fewer?

Its a tough job. A hard job. The only job.
Rooting out and destroying terrorists.

Why hasn't that anti-America whinebag Comrade Richard Boucher been fired? He's out of step with America's terrorism policy after 9-11. Of course its OK to crispy fry terrorists. We're doing it to Al Qaeda critters and the Israelis should damn well do the same thing to their home-grown Islamonazis, which by the way includes Arafart. Take 'em all out with as huge an explosive as you can. You'll save more innocents including American lives later. It seems Comrade Boucher is competing with Algore for the honor of the Pencil Eraser IQ Award.

Hey Comrade Boucher, kindly let Rummy know how you'd flush Saddam out of that big urban cesspool known as Baghdad before you spout such idiotic rhetoric. You're placing American lives in danger you Pencil Eraserbrain Genius.

So Israel, go surround the city and order everyone to evacuate. THEN, bomb it to smithereens with Deif left in it.
