- Oh, the reporter got the transcript from someone on my campaign? Well, we sure didn't do it, and if we did it, wasn't anything underhanded.
- Oh, we did prepare the transcript? Well, we're not really sure because we lawyered everybody up. "We have to protect them from the VRWC."
- Oh, it was one of my (deniably, expendably junior) staffers that put the guy up to his cut-rate Austin Powers act after all? Well, we'll fire the kid.
- You're still talkin' 'bout that? Can't we just move on?
On the plus side, given the Democrat predilection for distracting the proles from domestic diddling with some foreign fireworks, maybe Harkin will vote for the war resolution...
