Poor Miguel made the mistake of assuming the Democrats have integrity. Bad move.

I watched the entire hearing. They were replayed late into the night. Estrada demonstrates that he is probably one of the brightest minds to ever be interrogated by the judiciary committee. He was brilliant. He only came back to respond to the article as a matter of concience to be sure the record ws clear. I agree he was dealing with the democrats who have no conscience at all. I did notice that with the exception of Schummer, Kennedy and Wes Fiengold the other memberw were attempting to be kind, even LEAHY, which was scary. Estrada answered every single question, quoting case law, with specific dates and statutes even relating specific admendments of the constitution. This is the kind of mind tht is needed on the Supreme Court. I am sure that he will not be voted out of the committee. We need the Senate back to get this man appointed to the DC circuit. Like Euegene Scalia who was receased, Bush should do the same with this nominee. Also with Pickering and Owens. Particularly, if we don't get back the senate.

I called Senator Hatch's office this morning and suggested that he replay the beginning of the hearing when Schumer laid the first trap. Schumer did not ask the full question that he later brow beat Estrada with. If Hatch gets it he could make Schumer look like the fool he was and is. I found it interesting that Schumer not Leahy served as chairman. I don't know what htat was all about. But Schumer took great deilight trying to get Estrada. I do not think Schumer won, but no appointments will be made to any ciruit court as long as the dems control the senate.

Exactly. It was not pretty to watch. Yes, he was badgered. And yes he should have anticipated the whole thing. All he had to say to the issue was, "I have no recollection."

Whoever is preparing Owen and Estrada for the big lights ought to be fired. We are sending our people to a knife fight with a water pistol.

I would still like to know how many RATS have Republicans on their staffs, for God's sake.
