Interesting that Hillary, Kerry and Edwards are all being pretty quiet these days. Guess they are trying to assess the "political winds."

These guys make no sense. That's why the public finds GW so refreshing. The guy just makes sense and he doesn't have to speak like Forrest Gump (a la Al Gore) to do it. I saw Kudlow and Cramer last night and both the New Republic and National Review were just laughing about Gore's ridiculous speech. Looks like the left and right can agee on one thing: Gore is a fool.

Democrats urgently need your help!

Polls show Democrats and Republicans neck and neck, but the GOP is planning a multimillion dollar infusion of special interest cash to try and steal this election.

Republicans have targeted Mark Pryor for defeat in Arkansas and will stop at nothing to win!

President Bush has already helped raise a staggering $175 million for the Republican Party and candidates like Tim Hutchinson, and just this week Bush headlined an event that raised $8 million in one night from big corporate donors.

And now, in just a few short days, the Democratic Party is facing an important deadline when the fundraising quarter ends September 30! That's when our finances will be released to the press and scoured over by our opponents and compared to the Republican special interest war chest.

Your contribution will help Democrats stay competitive during this last fundraising quarter before the elections. It will immediately be put to use registering voters, helping make millions of get-out-the-vote phone calls, and helping to highlight the difference between Democrats and Republicans on the issues that matter most to America's working families.

Democrats will never be able to match the Republicans dollar for dollar, but to ensure victory for Mark Pryor and other Democrats in the 2002 elections we must get the message out and do everything we can to compete -- that's why we are asking for your immediate help today.

A strong fundraising quarter is so vital to winning elections! This show of strength not only gives our candidates the resources they need to win, but also gives them the momentum to carry their message of fighting to protect America's working families.

Please make as generous a contribution as you can afford right now online and help the Democratic Party reach our September 30th fundraising goals. Do your part to elect Democrats in 2002 by contributing to the Party today!

It is likely that Sen. Kennedy IS refering to the final 15 minutes of "Saving Private Ryan" because he is alerting people to the danger and loss associated with urban fighting; and the final 15 (really, as I recall, 30) minutes of the movie occur in a city (no longer inhabited due to months of shelling).

I think his reference is accurate, but his analysis is still wrong. Yes, urban warfare will be hell (just ask the IDF's experience in Jenin), but that in itself is not an argument against invading Iraq.

My guess is it will be the all-time sucker for poor timing, and who even now is begging to give a big speech...right before the conclusive evidence is released:

ANTHONY WIENER!!

...Al Gore's "accent". I never hear anyone talk about it, but he's got the weirdest way of pronouncing words sometimes....

Like he pronounces the word "sense" as if it were "since", or "Tennessee" would be pronounced "Tinasee".

O.J.'s a slicer

These people have been enemies of the America our founding fathers envisioned for a long time; the facade that they have been hiding behind is just getting more transparent. Americans are facing very crucial elections this year and in 2004. We, if we want to maintain our identity as a free society, must vote these godless self-important parasites out of office.

Kennedy jumped on the band wagon with a speech criticizing GWB's approach in dealing with Iraq. His speech could of been written by Chamberlain. The RATS are politicizing this deal to the MAX. Sen Bhye just said on FOX that Kennedy was dead wrong. THE RATS are imploding :-)

The movie *starts* with the Normandy invasion. It doesn't make sense for the movie to *end* with it.

Well, (and I can't believe a policy debate is dealing with MOVIES!!!), anyway, he is probably referring to the final bridge-defense scene in SPR. There, the remaining platoon, having completed their assigned mission of Saving Private Ryan, sets up to defend a bridge against overwhelming odds without reinforcement. The irony, of course, is that the soldiers were willing to sacrifice their lives to hasten the end of the war...whereas Teddy is cornfused thinking that soldiers are only to be used when their safety can be assured!!!

Four star general Teddy Kennedy going on and on about how military action in Iraq could plunge the whole world into war and deliver a crippling blow to the world's economy.

Did the military genius and economist cheat his way through West Point as well as Harvard? Did his family have to buy him his commission as well as his law degree?

Of course, during his speech, it was also necessary for him to point out that it is unfair to question democrat patriotism. This is the same group of patriots who chanted, "Ho-Ho-Ho Chi Minh," all thru the seventies and late sixties, not to mention the "Che Lives" and Mao-Tse Tung posters they lovingly hung on their walls right through the eighties. They were devastated by the utter failure of the Soviet system of government, and its collapse, but their belief in socialism hasn't wavered one bit.

Sure thing, they're patriots . . . Not!

That murdering, drunken sonofabitch turns my stomach. No shady, corrupt, bribery-deal prosecutors may have made with his family in Mary Jo Kopechne's murder is binding on the American people; the case should be re-opened and he should be arrested for murder on the floor of the Senate and be dragged off in chains.

I made the same argument on another thread for the arrest of Grand Dragon Byrd for his almost certain involvement in the lynchings of blacks.

In fact, there is good reason to believe that any number of Senate dims (not to mention a few RINOs who the dims consequently hold by the nads) were and are criminals of every stripe, and they should be arrested forthwith on the floor of the Senate. THEN hold the vote on Iraq (remember that scene in Elizabeth, The Virgin Queen? -- these time-honored tactics work). Stop fooling around already; the country's survival, and the lives of millions, hang in the balance.
