Daschle was commenting about how the President has not gone far enough in being conciliatory to the Democrats. Daschle is now saying that because of the lack of trust they feel, they may not pass Homeland Security or an Iraq resolution prior to going home to campaign.

TRANSLATION: We're not getting what we want so we're NOT going to vote on what America needs. WE (the Dems) and our feelings are more important than the American public.
