"Using a stun gun on an 8 year old is a criminal offense, besides being incredible moronic thing to do"
Why is that? I thought stun guns were harmless, had no side effects, and did no damage?
My point is that we have become a society where as long as something happens to the other guy, we're OK with that: He probably deserved it. Put the word "child" in the same argument, and we freak out. A human is a human, so why the difference?
No child deserves abuse, mental or physical. So, why do we accept abuse to adults? I know, I know, a 200 pound crazy man should immediately be stunned. yeah, right. No other way around that situation, huh?
If someone is really posing a lethal threat and needs restrained, shoot the idiot. This "less than lethal force" stuff simply has given the cops the idea that use of force is OK as long as the person doesn't die, which has also elevated the use of deadly force to the point we are even killing the same children we freak out about.

Ditto sonic and microwave pain fields, beanbags, barf gas, sticky foam, water cannons, pepper spray ... stuff to make the rabble go home and stop complaining. Officers would never use any of these methods indiscriminately - or for the purpose of oppression of legitimate political dissent.

"I agree, seems we, as a society, have become a bunch of blithering idiots when it comes to kids. Its no wonder so many of them grow up to be such self centered monsters.
