I don't know. My grandparents were the most gentle people, yet they lovingly recalled some stories about having to go get a peach switch or two. Didn't seem to hurt them or mar their characters. Who knows, maybe it even helped?

Shame they did not use one on you a few times. There is discipline and abuse. Maybe some of Saddams discipline would give you a clue as to the difference.

No kidding! My grandmother would use a switch on us! At the time, if given the choice, I would have probably chosen the stun gun!
