Spanking's one thing; stun gunning's something entirely different, in my opinion. If you used a stun gun on an adult, you'd be liable for a battery charge, and might just spend 30 days in jail. I can't see any reason someone should be allowed to use one on an 8-year-old kid.

My grandparents were the most gentle people, yet they lovingly recalled some stories about having to go get a peach switch or two.

No kidding! My grandmother would use a switch on us! At the time, if given the choice, I would have probably chosen the stun gun!
