If you legalized it, it would no longer be the #1 cash crop for any state.
Not that I oppose decriminalization, I just don't think the government should be involved in it through tax, distribution, licensing etc. It's a weed. It can grow anywhere, in almost any soil and any climate, and bloom up to 6 times a year. The only thing that is making it the #1 cash crop (and making the kingpins filthy rich) is that it is illegal and that we are putting billions of dollars to fight it. Decriminalize it, and everyone who wants it will be growing their own. The market prices will tumble within 2 months, so that it won't be any more expensive than parsley.
Now, I don't for a second believe that these illegal immigrants are behind the crop found in this bust. There is a very wealthy, cash flush kingpin who is behind that plot -- and it's probably not his only crop. Those illegal's were probably just working for him -- they are patsies. The kingpin has them harvest it for him (what's so surprising about having illegal aliens harvesting crops -- California's farmers import labor to pick crops it all the time) but he, the farmer, has the connections to sell the crop to the big distributors, who sell it to the dealers, who sell it to the users...

Who said anything about restricting anything. Go ahead, by all means, fire up another one. Just beware that there are health issues you might have to deal with.

Who said anything about restricting anything. So you oppose the War On Some Drugs?
Go ahead, by all means, fire up another one.
Thanks, but I don't use any drugs---including the deadly addictive drugs alcohol and tobacco.
Just beware that there are health issues you might have to deal with.
Of course---as there are with the deadly addictive drugs alcohol and tobacco.

No government propaganda needed here. Just a real world experience. I've been drinking an average of one six pack of beer every two weeks for 20 years....I've never had more than 3 beers in one sitting in my entire life (yes, even in and through highschool-college years), I could stop drinking beer forever and not really miss it. I do not consider myself addicted to alchohol.....what's your point? How, BASED ON MY CASE, can you say that alchohol is addictive?
To: taxed2death
How, BASED ON MY CASE, can you say that alchohol is addictive? There are degrees of addictiveness, and no addictive substance addicts everyone who uses it (government data shows that most heroin users are not addicted).

I never smoked dope, ever. I have a beer every few days. I've taken a few tylenol tablets in my lifetime. That's my drug history. No Crack, smack, speed, illy, uppers, downers, crystal meth, heroin, cocaine, bazuko etc.
I honestly feel the gub-mints roll in the "war on drugs" is a complete waste of taxpayer money. If you want to inject heroin into your veins, I think the gub-mint should not stand in your way. You are the problem, not the drugs.
I think the government should hand out free heroin, just for the asking. Crime rate would be 1 tenth what it is now.
Have second grade school kids visit some hard core addicts with crap in their pants and dribble coming out of their mouths. There's "drug education" for ya!
Guess what. If they legalized heroin , crack and cocaine tomorrow I wouldn't run out and start using. Know why? "Cause I don't need 'em". The morons with no self-love who use this crap would implode and O.D. in short order. Face it, some people just can't be helped. Period. End of subject. All men are created equal, some more than others. Remember that. Drugs are not the problem, defective people are.

Am I screwed? Where's the next meeting :)

What can I say? Leagalize it and we won't have this problem. What can I say - youre spelling tells us all we need to know. Medical use yes - Legalize - NO!

"But I think it'll be over the heads of most WODdies."
It's all because this forum has mainstreamed the 'special-ed' folks.
Remedial logic, science, english, arithmetic and manners ought to be offered to the cretinous faction. Then at least they'll be more amusing to mock.
To: vin-one
Well, let's start with I have/had 7 brothers, 3 of which are regular Pot smokers, Funny, that's the same thing your brother told me.

Why no legalization? Alcohol is legal although it's deadlier and more addictive.

my point was that the substance was not necessarily addictive but the person(your brother)
has an addicitive personality. Just like mine that died.
more to the point both alcohol and Pot, are not necessarily addictive but habit forming.
in my twisted view,

quite a bit of writing to somebody who could care less considering In 39 years I never NEEDED to touch the stuff.
Anyone who smokes dope is a loser who has no respect for his/her body.

Cool.....truce.
To: taxed2death
You should talk to my brother, perhaps he's an extreme case though. Cronic dope smoker......feet don't hit the floor in the morning without scorchin' a root. Real nut-ball. Poster boy for why you shouldn't smoke dope. Started out a normal kid, how 45 and wildly paranoid....no ambition. He might have about 6 or 7 brain cells working on a good day. Had all the breaks in life but still can't hold down a job for more than a few weeks. One way trip to loserville. No one can ever convince me, ever, that dope smoking doesn't effect your brain in an adverse way. Go peddle that less addictive stuff somewhere else. Why haven't you turned him into the police yet? It's "for his own good" isn't it?
By the way, I also have brothers, as well as other family members who have been smoking pot for more than twenty years. They're all very successful businessmen.
If you're brother is a loser, you might want to blame him, not the pot. In other words, it's not the pot's fault that he's a loser, it's his fault he's a loser.
Once again though, I have to ask, if you are a Woddie, why haven't you turned him in to the police? If you are a woddie you want other people jailed. What makes your loser brother so different or so special?

Excuse me, I was replying to your post, about taxes and what could be done.
But again it is none of your business what someone injests into their body,
if you don't mind wasting your tax dollars to legislate morality fine
I personaly would rather the money be spent on the war on terror and not on dope smokers.

The March of the Brigade Here is the march of the Brigade! The Live Like I Do Brigade! We know you think it's your life but you're wrong! And that is the very reason for this song! To demand you do what we think is best* and you will see! The only "good" kind of life is lived by me! And those who think like me regarding this issue of course. Consider this stolen :) It's so good and right on the money that I have no choice but to put it on my profile page. Don't worry though, I'll attribute it to you.
