People who are concerned about education in this state will come out for Gov Bush in this election. McLawyer wants to eliminate the grading of public schools (which parents do NOT want to see eliminated) and basically engage in a cover up of which schools need more help. Not a good idea for the students who need the help.

Be careful about those Florida "polls." Prowler Nails the DNC: AP Runs Fake McBride Poll. The AP-Tallahassee Democrat, WP, and the Sarasota Herald Tribune (after they had been forewarned) ran stories citing a DNC fraudulent poll.

American Prowler's Sour Grapefruits, exposed the DNC-McAuliffe-McBride fraudulent poll last Thurs. and Freepers notified the Fla. papers. They're lying...and the Florida papers, as one Dem. insider said, do not care.

I've been engaged in meaningful experiences with Governor Bush since he was inaugurated. He is very thoughtful and intelligent. He does work 12 to 14 hour days and is articulate in English and Spanish. However, he visits migrant schools where children and their parents attend to encourage them to learn English.

Governor Bush has assisted me and various neighbors at one time or another in the past four years. This is not access limited to any specific group. This is personal and result oriented access for any Floridian who needs his help.

I hope that you had a meaningful conversation with McBride about his ties to Terry MacAuliffe whose father-in-law is McBride's finance manager, Richard Swann. I hope that you asked McBride about the taxes he would like to raise for Floridians; dem millionaires always like to spend other people's money.

I could send you to an underground dem web site. Their strategy is to target veterans, especially Marines to get their vote. You are a number to Bill McBride. He wants to state that the Generals who vote for him are better than the Generals who support Jeb Bush. McBride's democratic party is the same party who challenged military absentee ballots. Did Bill McBride tell you that he hadn't seen his machine gunner from Nam, his best friend, since Nam? Makes him a hypocrite doesn't it? He leaves out that he didn't give this guy the time of day until he ran for governor, SINCE NAM.

Further, democrats are calling Christians the "Christian Taliban". I find that offensive do you? They are McBride supporters. Maybe you better do some more research on the Clinton's choice for governor. That's what you're getting. Fregards, FV

I read your comments about McBride with some skepticism. Then I read your profile.

By your own description, your military experience is overshadowed by your lawyerly experiences--in particular--the trial attorney consulting you enjoy. "...try to limit the degree of economic muscle applied by the commercial giant to the unfair or unlawful injury of the small business person."

Does the banking industry so completely represented by the McBride/Rossin ticket not fit into your commercial giant description? The trial attorney industry should be considered one of the most dangerous giants in our economy, unless, of course, you are one of them.

Your resentment that McCain lost the 2000 primary election tells another tale. McCain is expected to jump parties sooner rather than later.

I just reviewed the two dozen or so polls put out by Mason-Dixon for this election cycle, and compared them to polls put out by other organizations for the same races. I don't detect anything in the way of bias, and if any does exist, it would seem to be pro-GOP. They were the first poll to show Ehrlich with a lead in Maryland; they showed Hodges with only a 2 point lead in SC early on; they show the Illinois gubernatorial race to be closer than anyone else; they show the TN gubernatorial race to be closer than anyone else, and they show Lamar Alexander with a 19-point lead, bigger than just about everyone else. Everything else was pretty much consistent with other polling organizations.

Watch for a Tennant Group poll- or even Zogby- and forget M-D.

I have now idea who Tennant Group is. They haven't done any polling for this cycle that I'm aware of. Perhaps you mean the Tarrance Group? If so, they can't be trusted. They are a pro-GOP partisan polling firm.

Basically, I don't trust any single poll. The best way to get a good read on a race is to review all the polling data, so you can discern trends and pick out the outliers.

The mainstream press - AP, WP, Fla. papers went on to print the lies last week.I trust no Dem. before this election, and very few pollsters or members of the press....experience with the Swamp Rats. McBride panders to special interests to get their votes - he's got no particular fondness for any of them and since pandering for military votes is part of his strategy and he's an attorney, who is he going to pretend to be on the same page with? You have to be a proven leader like Governor Bush not just a good bser.

I was a paralegal for a considerable time. I loved the law but only know a handful of attorneys in the entire State of Florida whom I respect or trust. I did most of their work and they signed it. That happens all the time in law offices. I am now in the t-shirt & hat business. AFTER TIME, I COULDN'T EVEN STAND ATTORNEYS! LOL. Except Charlie Crist for AG.

I certainly don't want McLawyer in Tally with a rich banker wife and all the other strings attached to D.C.

Anyway, Trial Lawyers don't like the POTUS because he wants a cap on attorney's fees. Now who doesn't think that attorney's fees in the USA are too high? I SAY LESS MONEY FOR TRIAL ATTORNEYS AND MORE MONEY FOR ALL TEACHERS - NOT TEACHERS' UNIONS? How about it? Comments anyone?

Middie, it all depends on what you stand for. If you're a far left Democrat, McBride's your man. He's running as a moderate because that's the only way far left Democrats can get elected.

McBride was there, but he sure didn't have a clue who was fighting for our side and why.

Those "poor kids" had a great deal at stake, Mr. McBride. That's why the vast majority of them - most over 20, most middle class or above - volunteered to serve to protect and defend the freedom they know our country stands for. Most of them knew that Communism is a failed and deadly system...especially for the "little guy".

Really irritates me to hear people defend someone just because they served. I spent years being around the AF. Some of them I really respected and others I detested like in any other field.

Agreed- I think it is despicable to try to separate our veterans from a Governor and party that supported them then and now. His service is laudable- his using it this way is not.

I happened to catch the trouser-snake at a luncheon with one of my clients, and heard him discussing the gun issue with one of his supporters.. he felt that guns should be kept out of the wrong hands, and he would make sure they were only kept by those people with the proper moral conscience to use them appropriately. I nearly choked and wanted to make a scene (I REALLY wanted to make a scene), but I was there with a client.. so I coughed loudly, made eye contact, and then made like I was writing his comment down in my PDA.

When I worked often as a temporary at Holland & Knight law firm, I NEVER SAW McLawyer. He was out merging and merging with other law firms. That's why their profit margin has tanked and staff was let go earlier this year. He was the invisible man but maybe that was a good thing.

Trying to downsize Florida's bureaucracy by Governor Bush does not equate with H & K letting people go and re-structuring how they pay their attorneys.

But, today, www.sptimes.com is trying to say that thousands lost their jobs with the State because of Governor Bush. Duh, that's what downsizing is for. Governor Bush was eliminating waste - and people sitting on their duffs. If we need services now, the brightest and best are left in Tallahassee and they are accountable to Governor Bush or they get a trip to the woodshed, REALLY. I am not posting the lost jobs story because it has a liberal slant to it to hurt Governor Bush. Fregards, FV
