Poll Ping!
If you want on or off my poll ping list, let me know!

Typical "bounce" that we might expect from a primary win. Is the independent conservative or liberal?

Couldn't help but notice Judy Woodruff (CNN) reporting on this tonight....she could hardly contain herself. In fact, she proceeded to explain how many lib/dems were coming from behind and gaining on their R competition.

Is the independent conservative or liberal? Bob Kunst, the independent mentioned in the article, is a registered Democrat. Just browsing quickly at his website, he appears to have a serious axe to grind against the Bushes regarding the "stolen election".

Is this all that much of a jump? I don't recall the earlier figures, but it doesn't seem much to me. Not that I would be complacent, considering the corruption in the election boards.

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to engage Bill McBride in a meaningful conversation on things of importance to our state as well as on the pressing foreign issue of Iraq. It was a "let your hair down" (even though I have none) session with a group comprised of many veterans - -primarily retired relatively senior officers of all services-- with which I am happily associated. He was a most pleasant and articulate fellow and demonstrated his obvious intelligence in matters of current importance to the people of Florida; real property taxes, voter and election organization, local and state roads, population growth and urban sprawl--and the State National Guard organization.
He is indeed an impressive gentleman who, if elected, would appear to me and most of my colleagues to be a balanced and excellent governor.

Is this all that much of a jump? I don't recall the earlier figures, but it doesn't seem much to me. This change is well within the margin of error of both polls. It could be statistical noise. It could really be a 6-point move in McBride's favor. It could be that the previous poll was wrong. There's really no way to know. All that we can say with reasonable certainty, is that statisically this race lies somewhere between 53-39 Bush and 47-45 McBride. That's not real helpful of course! But considering that Zogby had this race at 49-39 on Monday, and that Bush was up 12 just before the primary, I think it's pretty likely that Bush's real lead is around 8-9 points.

Janet Reno would have been easy to defeat..
this race will be close , but I think Jebby will pull it out
by 6-8%

It's still Bush's race to lose but he's working on it. This will be a close race which, if Bush doesn't start running a better campaign than he has thus far, he could easily lose.

I believe this poll about as much as I believe the New York Times.

Jeb has been stuck at 49% in the last 2 Mason -dixon poll and the recent Zogby poll.

The independent is a former Dem and a gay activist who hates Janet Reno.

Re your post #4 - I saw that too. BTW, thanks for the ping here. Once McLawyer opens his mouth more in the debates ("More taxes are necessary"), his numbers will go down substantially.

Re your post #5 - He sounds like he left the Dem Party if he is now running as an "independent."

Re your post #7 - You should post that on one of the Dem sites, where the voters are always complaining they can never get McLawyer to answer a direct question on the issues. What a surprise it would be to those voters -- that he so openly talks to you, but won't talk to them.
