Interesting. Both Gore and Daschle have now given speeches termed "risky" by various analysts. This is the behavior of people who know they are hosed and aren't sure what to do, except to try something outrageous and see if it works. They would only take the risk of it turning out badly if they were pretty sure things were going to turn out badly anyway if they did nothing. There must be some new internal poll circulating around the highest levels in the Party that shows them headed for a rout. |

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I think his little outburst of temper today will play out to the benefit of Republicans. His leadership in the Senate has been extremely weak, yet vicious.

If going to war with Iraq is okay when a bunch of nations(who have not been attacked) approve of it, why is it wrong when one nation (who has been attacked) approves of it?

"Lott said he was "deeply saddened by the tone and tenor" of Daschle's comments."
Hmm. Lott sounds like Little Tommy there. He's "deeply saddened," "troubled," he's "concerned."
What? Has Lott become a political genius or something? Is Karl Rove *that* intelligent?
You simply have to wonder. Insulting Tom Daschle using his own flabby, moralistic language is simply beautiful.

Dasshole shames his constituents. But they keep re-electing him......they should be ashamed.

Daschle:
"We ought not to politicize this war. We ought not to politicize the rhetoric about war and life and death.Maybe Daschle was doing what he should have done the other day.
Maybe Daschle was giving Byrd a good "talking to" for Byrd's politicizing the war.

Persuasive analysis. I am guessing you may well be correct (Oh, Lord, I hope so. I would KILL to see those internal polls.) Since it's Dashole who blew up, it must be that Democrat control of the Senate is really, seriously in trouble.

The little dog daschle had to wait for orders from his master(hillary clinton), that's why it took him 2 days to launch an attack on President GWB.

Shorty should go to Germany and apply for the Cabinet vacancy created by the Fraulein who compared Bush to Hitler; the one with no vowells in her name (GmelinSP).
But everyone can't wear pink Tommy!

President Bush had pushed him right to the edge but Gerhard Gore sent Daschle spinning over the side out of control.
What in heavens name is a whiny pipsqueak doing controlling the United States Senate?

pursue an enemy which still wants to hurt America," Bush said.
