"It is totally beyond my comprehension."

Nawww, admit it, you comprehend just fine, my FRiend.

"I have worked for a county government, state government and the federal. What disturbs me most is that the public perception of government employees is that none of us care or do our jobs. However, I can't blame them for that perception because most of the people they speak to are the ones who don't give a $hit."

It's exactly like that...I've worked Local and State, but never Federal; however, my younger brother worked Federal Procurement right outta college and he left--after 3-4 years--aghast!! I could go on and on about this subject, but really it all comes down to the WorkExpended/RewardsReceived Ratio!!

FReegards...MUD

BTW..."I frankly wouldn't work for another government body if hell froze over!!"

LOL...don't be TOO harsh and inflexible, my FRiend. If we are successful in our efforts to devolve Power from the Federal Leviathan to States, Localities, and Individuals, yer expertise will become invaluable!!
