September 24, 2002; Serb refugees in Serbia continue to demonstrate on the Kosovo border. Albanian violence caused some 200,000 Serbs to flee Albania in 1999 (when NATO had chased the Serb army out). Only 80,000 Serbs remain in Kosovo and most NATO troops are tired up defending them from Albanian attacks. As a result, NATO refuses to allow Serb refugees to return to their homes in Kosovo because they cannot protect them from armed Albanians.
