I appreciate the heads up on Croc Files!

no, silly....it was a show called 'that's my baby'....where expectant animals are profiled...along with their owners/caretakers. One of the episodes focused on a lesbian couple and their dog....not for us!

speaking of Croc Files....have you noticed how buff Terri is lately? Crikey! We went to see the movie...and when she uses her shirt to wrap up a joey (or some other Australian thing they find on the side of the road), she was down to her cut self in a tank top...and we all said, "whoa". She's been weight training....but has overdone it, IMHO. I'm all for toning up, but....she looked a bit manly, there.

Take your TV set (or all of them) carry them outside and leave them on the sidewalk.

One thing - if you have a computer, you can watch DVD movies (VCR also can be connected).

There is definitely not enough publicity about issues like the pedophile directing movies. How sick can one get? Why would they hire a known child predator?

I don't know much about walt disney...outside of his business life. Do you think he would support it?

no. turn of the tv, einstein. open a book. tv is trash for intellectual midgets who cant be stimulated any other way. it is a passive entertainment. you should also read up on the psychological and brainwave impacts tv has, studies done years ago.

read books of substance, not gibberish or junk. not magazines, books.

do your kids go to public school, btw? just wondering.

For me it is simply not realistic

translation: I have neither the creativity, desire or ambition to actually use my brain to teach my children. Wow. Sixty years ago you would have died from a lack of tv.

go watch oprah. dr phil or rush will tell you what to think.

and oh yeah, not trying to be ignorant here, but this very attitude is at the core of what is ruining our nation, and families.

the base of your premise is that you SHOULD be able to get away with avoiding YOUR responsiblities by farming it out to someone else, public schools, the media, etc. etc.

your children and the job of raising them is no ones' responsibility but your own. the massive social destruction you see all around you stems from such a premise. It is the essence of statism and socialism or mysticism: looking externally for that which can only be found from ones' self. It is no different, but a matter of degree, between this attitude and those of the welfare statee.

Next time I'm going to calmly point out the flaws!

I had a similar problem with my kids, they wanted to watch Captain Planet. I told them no and then explained why, that this cartoon is sending a message that people in general are bad because they hurt the environment. Then went in to more detail.

It worked beautifully because now that the youngest is 16 he's quite mindful of the subtle messages being delivered through such programs.

He had watched the show a while back to for grins and pointed out to me that the "good guys" on the show are all minorities and the one good guy that doesn't get why we should be so concerned with the environment above all else is white. Something I hadn't even noticed from the little bit of the cartoon I had watched when the kids were very young.

And allow me to say that in this home we don't condone racist thinking.

I've been looking for some of my old webpage design links, and came across this.. an old FR thread. Do we see a common theme here yet? :-(

Disney Exec Arrested In Underage Online Sex Sweep
NEW YORK (Reuters) - The executive who oversees Walt Disney Co.'s Go Network of Internet sites was arrested after soliciting sex online from an FBI agent posing as a 13-year-old girl, a spokesman for federal prosecutors said Sunday. Patrick Naughton, 34, of Seattle, was arrested Thursday on the Santa Monica Pier, an entertainment area near Los Angeles, after he met a female officer who had arranged to meet him there, said Thom Mrozek, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles.

Walt Disney was highly regarded as one who produced excellent stories that were considered to be children's classics. They always had some type of moral lesson (of the good type), and were well made and entertaining.

Since Walt passed away, liberal hedonists have bought out not only the Disney name, but everything associated to Disney. As such, Disney movies today are nothing more than meaningless drivel at best.

Walt is probably rolling in his grave as we speak...

Yep. As Queer Nation shouted at Disney World at one of their "gay day" parades, "We're here, we're queer, and we're coming for your kids".

ANY public or private organization that allows perverts to march around and shout that should be shutdown. But to think that it is an organization that peddles its wares to children, that is more than simply obscene, it is criminal.

I believe Walt's brother Roy took over, and he likes males much more than females.

I had the televisions removed from the house when I found my 3 year old daughter watching MTV and Madonna was crawling across the floor kissing a black man's foot who was supposed to be Jesus.

The kids started to read a lot and do creative activities. They were very different than the other kids at school, and sometimes ridiculed. We pulled them out and put them in private school. They are now both self supporting and thank my spouse and I for raising them the way we did.

I dunno HISTK's TV show is pretty toungue in cheek regarding a lot of things... throwing in an adult joke because they know parents are watching with the kids... same thing with Sesame Street, and many kids shows in fact. Wouldn't take one incident in one episode as an overall pattern of political indoctrination

I believe Walt's brother Roy took over, and he likes males much more than females.

While Walt's nephew Roy took over initially after both Walt's and his father Roy's deaths, he handed the top spot to Eisner.

From History and ownership:

The company was founded in 1923 by Walt Disney and he made the first Mickey Mouse cartoon in 1928. After family rivalry, the company divided with Walt taking one part and his brother Roy taking another part. The fraternal rivalries survived their deaths (Walt in 1966 and Roy in 1971).

Later Roy Disney (Walt's brother Roy's son) and the largest stockholder, Bass Brothers ruled the company and gave the top spot to Eisner. Roy Disney has sold his stock and, as of 1990, the Sid Bass Group, of Fort Worth Texas holds the biggest chunk of stock (18%). Other relevant share holders are Columbia Insurance Co. (9%), State Farm Mutual Au (7%), National Indemnity Co. (7%).

I saw it too!! And I was simply amazed and thoroughly disgusted! I told my husband about the scene, however little of it I could stand to watch before I switched the channel.

This is an especially relevant subject around here, where our school budget amounts to $30 MILLION to educated approximately 1600 kids, where we've had double digit school tax increases annually for the past 3 years in a row.

As soon as I have the time, I will sit down and write to Disney to let them know what I think about their little bit of propaganda.

Sitting in front of one is the biggest admission of failure imaginable.

I beg your pardon, but I can imagine bigger failures than that.

Those of us who live in the real world sure do appreciate your advice, especially the condescending tone. For someone so literate and intellectual, your grammar and spelling sure are sh*#...Einstein.

Count me as another parent who had to lock out Disney and Cartoon Network. When my daughter was younger, I allowed Blue's Clues, but since the recent program on homosexuality, Nickelodeon is also out. I tried going without a TV years ago, but it wasn't realistic in the long term. As it is, we watch very little anyway. We've developed a collection of videos like Veggie Tales and encourage our daughter to watch videos instead of tv. The little tv she does watch, I try to watch with her and point out the propoganda.
