Actually, I'll bet that it won't get overturned in court, because in the Nordyke v. Alameda and Great Western Shows v. Los Angeles, the California Supreme Court has ruled that the ONLY areas of firearms regulation off-limits to cities and counties are in the licensing and registration of firearms. Everything else is fair game.
This is why it is critically important that you get on the mailing list of the Thermopylae Group to get ready for the fight to amend the California Constitution with the right to keep and bear arms. Even if you don't live in California - what happens here, be it emissions controls, socialist family leave wealth redistribution, etc, eventually makes its way across the nation.

However, I think that it will be overturned in Federal Court - not state. Again, it will take forever to get there.
Do agree that a Constitutional Amendment would help things out a bunch, but don't think it will pass without a huge replacement of the pols.
