And excellent leaders emerge from their group, but because they are not doctrinaire socialist/liberal, then they are rejected. Condy Rice, Alan Keyes, JC Watts, Rev. Petersen, even Colin Powell who is a moderate but he isn't a slobbering liberal socialist Don Juan.

[snortle] The man needs to stop and THINK about the words that are coming out of his mouth, bro... Maintain at least some modicum of self-respect... Not that he would ever get any respect from Yers Truly.

You're funny. I know how you feel about the different terms. I wonder what the next generation will be. I never know which to say when I'm talking to students and faculty of color...

"Coming from a man of the cloth is beyond imagination."
That there is anyone left who still believes Jesse is a man of the cloth defies logic.

The article is cool, but the last sentence of the article is great!

" . . . Actually Im not going to describe what I saw there because what I saw was so horrible that it can be used by those who would want to promote war with Iraq, and right now I am waging peace. Yep, I totally see what you mean. There is absolutely no common sense to it. If he saw things that were so horrible going on --and to innocent Children, for heaven's sake!!-- then he is contradicting his priciples. This guy is saying that he values "peace" and non-violence so much that he's willing to allow violence and torture (of children) to continue, because the violence it would take to stop such horrors would be equally wrong. Makes no sense to me at all.

The more I hear Jesse speak I am convinced he flunked out of divinty school and should never be called a reverend.. That's another good point...he's not a reverend. Get Joeseph Timmermann's book Shakedown and read the part about his 'ordination,' or more accurately his lack thereof. It's still a relatively new book, so you may be able to find it at the library.
Don't worry about never having heard this bit of info before. I didn't know either, until I read the book. It's not something his supporters in the media are willing to report, expecially since he is the leader of their 'Hate America' crusades.

Anyone remember when Jessie Jackson introduced Fidel Castro to a congregation in a Harlem church? Rush Limbaugh was the only one to show the clip on network tv, back in the days when he had his tv show. Fidel was there in his military greens, and Jackson introduced him as a great and wonderful leader.

No I had never heard this but after all of the bible misquotes it sure doesn't surprise me. As a matter of fact it makes me feel a little better considering what he has said now and in the past while supposedly quoting scripture..

Didn't Jesse at I forget which Democrat convention (1988? Can someone help me out?) make a speech where he said that Jesus' family was homeless? Also at some point implying that Jesus' mother was a "single mom"?
As a non-Christian these "theories" are not inherently offensive (though I give no creedence to them). But I can see where a Christian would find these supremely offensive. Reverend?
The Saddam as Jesus thing, however is universally offensive to any decent person. Isn't he supposed to be a "reverend"? OK it's a free country and he can call himself "reverend". "Reverend" of what?
Even most libs won't go for this one. They'll likely give Jesse a pass, but it will be an embarrasment not to be mentioned.

#9 Why did people EVER listen to Jesse?
To: EggsAckley
And I DO use the term "Negro race" on purpose. I'm tired of them changing that to black or African American or whatever other silly terms they use. It's like a little kid using the word "hoo-hoo" instead of the word "penis." I must disagree with this. Of all the terms that have been used, "African American" is the most accurate. They are primarily Americans, and (some of) their ancestors are from Africa. This follows the same form as "Italian American", "Irish American" etc. Just plain "American" would be better, but because everybody makes the distinction in practise it's necessary to find the unambiguous term that's least offensive without jumping through PC hoops.
So to me "African American" it is, or "black" due to common usage (or discussing a group that includes non-Americans). "Negro" only when discussing physical anthropology.

Jesse Jackson is mischievous, self-seeking and committed (to the extent that he is committed to anything besides himself) to a Leftwing ideology. But he is not a fool.
I find myself having to speak out for the intelligence of Clinton and others, not because I admire any of the ilk. I most certainly do not. But it is important to understand when there is method in the seeming madness of our foes. One should not underestimate them.
The fools are the professional "liberals," in the media and academia, who keep building up the Jesse Jacksons of this world. The huckster and extortionist who exploits them understands what he is doing.
Now if you want to comment on the reverence of the "Reverend," that is quite another matter.

"Jesse Jackson is a fool."No......................he's an idiot and a fool. Big difference; one that makes him all the more dangerous.

The more I hear Jesse speak I am convinced he flunked out of divinty school and should never be called a reverend.. Mary was an unwed mother, Mary and Joseph were homeless.. Now this. Has he ever really saw a bible let alone studied it? You beat me to it.
Jesse clearly has a make-it-up-as-you-go Bible.
The idea that he calls himself a "Reverend" is a joke.

I'm going to have to take issue with that statement. Many (if not most) of BET's viewers are very familiar with the Lord and with Jesus in a very personal light. Now that's the best news I've heard all week. I would suggest that black Christians stand up and proclaim the guy for what he is: a pimp and a wolf in sheep's clothing, proclaiming the word of the Lord, while he's proved that money is his real God.

Jessy, is Sadam the second comming?
