FReepers expressed their outrage, and justifiably so. What was the result of their expressing that outrage? Was the abusive mother harmed? Was she beaten? Was she stoned? Was she hanged?
I suggest the result of their expressing their outrage is that some lurkers and even some presently-posting FReepers who beat their children are soberly reconsidering their actions. Their children will be a liitle safer after today.
Great good can come from a community's verbally expressing its outrage over the reprehensible conduct of a few of its self-obsessed members. Shame can be, and should be, a positive virtue.
But you can claim no part in this good. You resisted it with phony condemnations and self-righteous swoonings over a "mob mentality" that caused no one any harm.
You need a dose of humble pie, Kevin Curry. The very idea that you would accuse fellow FReepers of being child beaters is waaaaaaaaay over the top.
