More b/s. The Republicans are much closer to my beliefs than the Democrats. Smaller government, cut taxes, cut spending, strong military, individual rights, pro-gun, pro-life. The RATs are just the opposite. Vote the RATs out!

Nice, very nice. So would someone tell this to Liddy Dole, who is running nonstop commercials here in North Carolina boasting that she'll keep propping up Social Security, which is and always has been socialist, big-government largesse at its WORST! Not to mention her wishy-washy stand on the right to bear arms.

That ain't "conservative" or "Republican", Jim. REAL conservatism is having the guts to tell people they're shackled to government. Not pull the blinds over them like "big government liberals" do.

Jim, to insist that it's "conservative vs. liberal"/"Democrat vs. Republican" is not only myopic and shallow, it's dangerous, because those are just distractions from the real cancer eating away at America. There are those of us who believe in the sovereignty of the individual, that God entrusted America to her people. And then there are statists: the ones who demand that America is no greater than her government. There are no citizens under statists, only subjects.

The Democratic and Republican parties, both of them, are statist. And both parties love their power too much to effect anything that would cede more power to the individual. If President Bush had an overwhelming majority in both the House and Senate, nothing notable would change in America, and it's naive to believe that the Republicans would do anything different than the Democrats... 'cuz BOTH rely on as many people as possible on the government dole to stay in power.

If republicans are for small government, then why do we have 13.9% growth in federal spending this year? I read on Yahoo Business News that less than half of that growth was explained by increases in either defense spending or homeland security. Bush is for big government, he's proven it with his actions.
