The liberals will not fracture their coalition the way Conservatives do. The DNC IS the liberal party it has no conservative or even a discernable moderate element. The political reality is that any 3rd party success will come from disaffected conservatives or libertarians and that means that congress will be in liberal control for a generation.

This is true and the country will surely convulse. However, the history of the American experience shows that freedom is a fragile thing with a big cost. Our tradition is to fight those who attempt to subjugate us. Hopefully, the Republicans will consider this and help us clean the political house. Otherwise they will also get swept out in the chaos ahead.

We were born of revolution that is a fact. However we have the most stable Republican Form of Government the world has ever known. There will be no revolution. Here is food for thought. In times of national crisis such as the great depression the country did not lurch to the right it ran to the left. They looked to Washington to take care of them. Those that think by letting the liberals take us down the tubes so the country will "wake up" and become a nation of rock ribbed conservatives are ignoring the history of their own country not to mention human nature.

Unfortunately, the Green Party was the strongest Third party in the last presidential election. I say "unfortunately" because although it may have been a good thing in the short-term (hurting the Dems), it is alarming that 3% of the voters will go vote for the Communist Party under another name.
