The tapes were rolling when Gorman and Daley left the store because, according to the prosecutor, the suspect tried to return some items in exchange for money but she was denied. Toth said, "We believe it was just part of a scam to try to just get some money where no money was due. Because they had their suspicions about her, then obviously they followed her into the parking lot with a camera. Thank God we caught this on camera."
